Hamburger Stand No 2

HamburgerStandNo2, originally uploaded by carolWorldLeader.

This was taken at a "Fat Boy" Burger place, on the corner of Decatur Street in New Orleans.

Interesting thing about this place, I went in to get a drink, thinking I could grab a "fast" iced tea, and it was the virtual equivalent of pulling teeth. It took the guy like 20 minutes to make change for a 5 dollar bill and hand me an empty cup. (Note to self: if you ever go back, avoid this place, unless you are taking pictures.)

I don't eat burgers and have no idea how long it would take them to kill a cow and grill the results. I'm guessing a month or more but, eat at your own risk, if you know what I mean.

I selected this shot because it had the ATM machine in it and I sort of liked the green glow coming from the back (to the right.) Lucky shot too, the next night, there were a lot of people eating there, no empty tables, and I would not have been able to pull something like this off. I got three shots off, all of which were to my liking, the night happened along.

They had this interesting "mister" system that was supposed to keep you from getting too hot. It kept me from getting too close. That's ok though, because I kind of like the "distance" aspect of this shot. You feel like all the action is on the other side of the railing and that kind of fits the shot. I don't think I got any water on me, which is good.

I attended a Photoshop tutorial this weekend, which was quite nice. It was interesting to meet and hang out with some other photographer type folks, for a brief period, when it's just too hot to shoot.

I've started to plan "shooting season" for the fall, and started to think about all the stuff I want to shoot, once the weather turns nice again. I have a semi-long list, but it's entirely in the realm of "possible" if you know what I mean.

Until next burger joint...
