Carriage In the Rain

CarriageIntheRain, originally uploaded by carolWorldLeader.

Here's yet another shot from the French Quarter in the rain.

I was shooting the building, when this carriage pulled up in front of me. I thought to myself, "no way am I going to get so lucky that this carriage is going to stop right in front of me so that I could take a picture of it." It stopped, I shot, I tried to take another shot, but then it moved. I'm glad my first composition wasn't too bad. I like the added touch of the umbrella.

I added a little blur to this one in Photoshop, but not too much. It wasn't raining all that hard when it was taken but still, it sort of has that look. The lensbaby doesn't hurt any either, as it tends to soften things up a bit. It has the "vibe" of the carriage in the rain, and that's really what I was going for anyway, so I'm happy with it.

I'm listening to this very poetic song about the Sahara. "...and if we burn away, I'll pray to skies above, for snow to fall on the Sahara..." That's about how I feel right now. It's slated to get to a balmy 102 today in River City, with no rain it sight. The heat's really getting to me-it's peak sweat season and has become difficult, if not impossible, to stay cool Unless, of course, you stay inside, in the a/c, then you freeze (or do as I do and take to wearing a parka.) It's difficult too, to find a parka that's suitable for summer wearing (ask me, I know.)

Hard to believe that, just a few weeks ago, I was drenched and right by the ocean. What's the old expression? When it rains....oh yeah.

Until next raindrop...
