I am afraid Pottsville is quite culturally challenged...the only place to hang art around here is on telephone poles...In Nashville some time ago, I actually did a telephone pole show...in a hip and trendy part of town where the poles were always plastered with flyers for local band gigs, another artist and I worked up some collage art, photocopied them in number, and stapled them to every pole around one block. We got the local free street rag to post a map featuring the show..the block was lined in yellow. We called the show "Yellow Square Area" People either hated them and tore them down, or liked them and collected them...in any respect, they disappeared off the poles in a few days. : )

I am totally out of touch with the Nashville gallery scene, but I know Chromatics, where all the pros get their stuff printed, has a second floor gallery. You can likely google search Chromatics, Nashville and get more info. I have a friend who shoots professionally (I think you would like her work) I will ask her for some other gallery leads, if you are interested in showing in this part of the world.mythopolishttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03164758700393086005noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3285530.post-72945938781846254682009-03-03T11:45:00.000-06:002009-03-03T11:45:00.000-06:00@Mythos, that's a good idea. I'll try to maybe put...@Mythos, that's a good idea. I'll try to maybe put up a slide show of Identity. I think that Flickr will let me do that and then I can post a link here.

I never use the cheap sort of "clip" frames. I think they look horrible. I know some people use them to save money. I sell my work (when it sells!) for too much money to do that. Plus, you know, it's a respect thing. I'd rather take a break and not show any work than put out shoddy looking stuff.

I'll try to have a show in your neck of the woods at some point, just so that you can see it. Would you go to one of my shows if I had one near you?

Actually, do you know if Pottsville has any galleries that would like my work? I mean, as the mayor and all, could you point me to your local Cultural Liaison or otherwise instruct me as to how to get a gallery directory?

:~)Carolhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01631042606380970249noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3285530.post-45174864858809764802009-03-03T06:02:00.000-06:002009-03-03T06:02:00.000-06:00I wish I could see one of your exhibits! Have you...I wish I could see one of your exhibits! Have you thought of posting an exhibit in the form of a slide show on your blog site? Its interesting that you take the time to frame the photos. It seems so many photo exhibits I see involve very minimal mounting behind glass, but frameless otherwise.mythopolishttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03164758700393086005noreply@blogger.com
